Many of our customers have specific questions about our professional cleaning and linen services. Here are just a few of the frequently asked questions we have received. If you require further assistance, please contact our office.
+ Who hires a cleaning service and why?
We clean many homes from Hilton Head to Callawassie. Our clients are as varied as their homes! Here is a snap shot of who our clients are and why they need us:
- Busy couples who spend their days at work and don't want to spend their weekends cleaning
- Families who are pulled in multiple directions, but still want a clean home while spending time with their kids
- Retired folks who can't do as much as they used to around the home

+ What is the difference between you and another cleaning service?
- We know you have choices when it comes to having your home cleaned.
- We provide teams of two so you will always have the same cleaners for your home.
- We're educated n our knowledge of new cleaning products, eco-friendly choices, and industry developments.
- Training, Training, Training! We have a great training program followed up with ongoing quality checks.
- We are flexible. We will customize our cleaning to meet your needs and desires.
- Communication is key. Phone us at the office, email at your convenience, we are prompt and responsive to your needs!
- We accept checks.
- We bring all new rags to mop, whereas some services cross contaminate. We take precautions to never cross contaminate from clean to clean.
+ What is the difference between you and an individual cleaning person?
There are many differences between hiring an individual, and hiring a bonded, insured cleaning service. The biggest differences come down to liability, and management. When you hire an individual, you are accepting all the responsibility for taxes, insurance, and liability. When breakage or a fall occurs, when there is an issue in quality or a difference of opinion about how something should be cleaned, or arranged (or not arranged!) YOU are the manager. And when the individual is done cleaning homes, or moves on to her next venture, you are left starting your search for a cleaner over again.
Housekeeping Services is insured and bonded. We take care of breakage in your home on the off chance that it occurs. We interview and background check all Housekeeping employees. We train, direct and manage our cleaning staff. If there are ever any problems, you need only email or call the office and we will take care of it. If the staff member who cleans your home is ever sick or moves on to another job, we have someone to clean in their place so you don't have an interruption in service. That is why we send teams of two.
+ Do I have to be home when you clean?
No, but you are welcome to be home if you like. Most of our clients are not home when we clean, but some work from home or are in and out when we are there. As long as you provide us with entry to your home, you do not have to be there.
+ How many people will be in my home when cleaning?
Two. We use teams for homes being cleaned on a regular basis.. You will have the same two people at the same time of day, each cleaning. If your cleaning tech is sick, or taking a vacation day, we will have a substitute come for that day with the other team mate. You may see a Quality Control person stop by during you cleaning. We do this on a random basis. This will be a trainer or manager.
+ Do I need to provide supplies? What do I provide?
We bring all the cleaning tools and supplies we need to clean your home well. If you prefer special products, we will use what you provide.
+ Do you have a guarantee?
OUR SERVICES ARE ALWAYS GUARANTEED: Just call or email if you have a question or concern about your cleaning, and we will return to your home the next day! Please call within 24 hours of your cleaning so we can promptly respond.
+ What if I need to skip or reschedule my cleaning?
We reserve your cleaning spot for your home only. As such, a sudden skip or reschedule generally leaves our staff with no work for the day. We ask for a courtesy 24 hour notice if you need to skip your cleaning. A 50% fee may be charged if we are at your door and locked out or told not to clean that day. Thank you for your understanding.
- If you are sick, we will reschedule you in our next available spot to avoid having double build up your next cleaning.
- If you are going to be on vacation, we can skip your cleaning, and appreciate your advanced notice.
- We will do our best to reschedule you when needed, and or schedule you extra cleans if you have guests coming or special events.
+ What about pets?
We love pets! Most of our clients have them. Our preference is that you have dogs kenneled for their sake as well as ours. We can talk about any special arrangements during our in house consultation. Please note that we do not clean cat litter boxes, or pet accidents.
+ What if I forget and don't leave the door unlocked on my cleaning day?
This is why most of our clients provide us with either a garage code, or a key. If you choose not to do so, and we are locked out on cleaning day, we will assess a 50% charge so we are able to provide payment to our staff for their time and efforts.
+ What if my cleaning falls on a holiday?
There are no holidays in housekeeping. If you know you will not need cleaning during a holiday, or know you have family coming to town and need to reschedule, please call ahead of time, and will do our best to accommodate.
+ How do I pay for my cleaning?
We accepts checks. Your first cleaning is hourly. For ongoing service payment is due at time of cleaning. Just leave a check on the counter the day of your cleaning or we could bill you.
+ Do you do loads or dishes or laundry?
We do not normally do loads of dishes, and we do not do laundry. Our regular cleans do not allow for the extra time, and in the case of laundry, liability to do these items. If these are very important to you, we can customize your cleaning to allow for these tasks, they will cost more than our typical rates.
+ What if I just want my bathrooms/kitchen cleaned, or different things each time?
We will do that for you! We can price your home for certain rooms only, or we can give you a priority clean. A priority clean is a set hourly charge in which we will clean up to the time limit, working through your list of priorities in the time allowed. In this case, we do not guarantee we will get through your list, just that we will work up to the agreed time. This is a good option if you are on a budget, or would like to change the task list often. This clean is not as comprehensive as a whole house clean with a flat rate charge.
+ Do you have an office I can visit?
We have professional offices in Bluffton & Hilton Head. Stop by and visit any time, our hours are 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM M-F. While some businesses choose to operate out of their homes, we feel that an office conveys a higher level of professionalism and commitment both to our clients, our longevity, and our staff.
+ What is your Referral Policy?
We give one FREE CLEANING to our ongoing clients who refers a friend who starts regular service. We are honored when our clients refer a friend or co-worker. Your free cleaning is credited after the referral has had 3 regular cleanings. We care about what you have to ask. Many of our customers have specific questions about our professional services. + What if my service missed a spot?
Our maid services offer consistent, top notch and quality home cleaning service. Like all new relationships, however, miscommunications occur and we may make a mistake due to human nature. . That's why we offer a house cleaning service guarantee, which mean if you notify us within 24 hours, our house cleaning staff will correct their mistake at no extra charge.
